I've had my share of cooking successes and a few pretty hilarious failures along the way, but once I got the hang of things in the kitchen, cooking turned into an obsession. We live a busy life, but we make it a priority to sit down together as a family for dinner every night.
A little about me: I married my best friend on Valentines Day, and we have a 13-year-old daughter, Madelyn. She is an aspiring artist, an imaginative author, and quite the little musician. I refer to her frequently on the blog as "my little sous chef." We recently bought our dream house. Even more recently, we adopted a puppy! His name is Dug (or Duggy), and he's a Jack Russell mix. Not to be overshadowed by our newfound love of dogs, we also have a prissy little cat, Daisy. By day, I am a homeschooling mom, and I also work out of home as a law enforcement transcriptionist. I love my job because it's extremely interesting, and it allows me to have a very flexible schedule, which is very helpful with homeschooling... which I also love! Got a lot of loves in my life! By night, I work fearlessly and tirelessly in the kitchen... well, not exactly. If my day is too hectic or I'm too tired to cook, I'll run out and buy a rotisserie chicken! Regardless of what I'm serving at the table, we meet there as a family every night to share a meal and talk about (and sometimes cry about) our day together.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

FAQ
Q: What kind of camera do you use?
A: I use a Nikon Coolpix P7700. No, I haven't spent thousands of dollars on a camera... yet.
Q: Have you ever taken any cooking classes?
A: In the beginning of 2011, my mother surprised me with a one-day cooking class with Chef Pagliaro. That has been my one-and-only class. I am as self-taught as you can get when it comes to my cooking (Food.com and Google were my best friends in the beginning). Because I'm not a professionally trained cook, my recipes may or may not be technically or authentically "correct"... but I certainly try my best!
Q: Have you ever taken any photography courses?
A: I wish! If you go back to some of my older recipes, you'll see that the quality of the photos is very poor. Even now, I still have a lot of room for improvement. A lot. I've actually been tempted a few times to delete my older posts because of the poor photo quality; however, I think it's important to be reminded of where I got started and how far I've come.

Q: May I use your recipes and/or photos on my own blog/website?
A: I would be honored for you to use my recipes and photos; however, I do ask that you please give Cooking Creation the credit as well as include a link back to my blog.
